Senior Director for Enrollment Initiatives
Summary: Responsible for the development and continued facilitation of student recruitment initiatives for the Institution. Supports the successful accomplishment of its educational business and serves the admissions needs of the students of the Institute. Works directly with international and domestic recruitment as well as collaborative enrollment initiatives with the institutional offices of Institutional Advancement and Marketing and Communications. Evaluates and measures the learning potential and academic achievement of prospective students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Enrollment Initiative Development
Work with the leadership team in Enrollment Management to identify, develop, plan, and implement enrollment initiatives. Responsible for measuring progress, modifying strategies, and incorporating efforts into overall institutional recruitment strategies.
Identify, manage, and expand international recruitment markets including global travel, individual and group presentations, admission decisioning, and yielding of students. Work collaboratively with Rose-Hulman staff and faculty to develop messaging and marketing approaches as well as recruitment tactics. Employ new modes of outreach to increase interest and desired enrollments.
Identify, manage, and expand targeted domestic recruitment markets including domestic travel, individual and group presentations, admission decisioning, and yielding of students. Work collaboratively with Rose-Hulman staff and faculty to develop messaging and marketing approaches as well as recruitment tactics. Employ new modes of outreach to increase interest and desired enrollments.
Reach out to target school and independent counselors to increase institutional awareness and interest in Rose-Hulman.
Institutional Advancement Collaboration
Partner with Institutional Advancement to promote collaborative recruitment efforts with alumni affairs. Support donor outreach and engagement. Serve as enrollment liaison for endowed merit scholarship programs including identification, selection, and enrollment of targeted scholars.
Marketing and Recruitment Responsibilities
Creates and implements individual marketing plans for domestic and international enrollment – including knowledge of recruitment history; area alumni and friends of Rose-Hulman; competitors and factors of influence – that assist the Institute in successfully achieving its educational mission.
Utilize virtual experiences and social media to reach a broad audience.
Partner with international colleagues to build and draw Rose-Hulman interest.
Public Relations Services
Performs public relations services by representing Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at high schools, college fairs, conferences and other events as required; serves as guest speaker, discussing a variety of higher education topics including but not limited to the college search process, tuition grant and assistantship issues, scholarship services, etc., to a variety of constituents, including but not limited to professional organizations, students, and parents.
Serves the Institute as the primary point of contact, promoting and representing the interests of both Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and its customers by providing counsel for prospective students and parents regarding academic programs of study, program requirements and scholarship programs; and make financial commitments on behalf of the Institute in the form of scholarships.
Employs personalized communication techniques when communicating with prospective students, parents and other constituents through written and electronic communication.
Conducts inquiries into concerns on behalf of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and/or prospective students, parents, and other constituents who may encounter situations during their experience with the Institute and determine the resolutions of such issues. Significant matters may include, but are not limited to the following: financial aid issues, academic program issues, admission credentials, residence life, etc.
Participates in short and long range departmental planning and implementation of programs.
Anticipates and investigates competitive products and services and make recommendations for distinguishing Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from the competitive marketplace.
Participates in development of Institute publications including print and electronic.
Participates in development and implementation of campus recruitment programs.
Makes large and small group presentations to prospective students regarding programs.
Facilitates prospective student campus visits and interviews.
Plans and manages an annual budget to meet Institute needs that include, but are not limited to, domestic and international recruitment travel.
This job has no regular supervisory responsibilities but may on occasion supervise student employees.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred; minimum of five to seven years college admissions experience in a private institution preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. International recruitment/travel experience preferred.
